Want some wanderlust in these trying times? Take a look at some of our best Iceland landscape photography pictures. We visited Iceland last year and were blown away by the outstanding beauty of this country. The landscape is stunning and the views are epic. It was as if we were on another planet. Iceland ended up being one of our 19 highlights from 2019
Iceland is famously called as ‘The land of fire and ice’ and we could totally understand why. Giant glacier caps, floating icebergs and volcanoes greeted us. The ground is covered in volcanic lava and moss and there are some incredible natural formations like Black sand beaches and Basalt columns. Majestic waterfalls are scattered throughout the country and we spent a major part of the trip chasing waterfalls there. The picturesque countryside will take your breath away.
We felt incredibly privileged to have explored the stunning Iceland landscape and and tried our best to capture the beauty of the place. While we have already written a mammoth guide on one week in Iceland plus posts on all the Iceland tips that you should know and our Iceland travel budget for one week this post is dedicated to the jaw dropping Iceland landscape photography and to provide some travel inspiration to you. Hope you like these pictures and plan a trip soon!

STUNNING ICELAND LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY SPOTS THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND
BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN COLOURS IN SNAEFELLNESS PENINSULA DURING SEPTEMBER
MY TOP TWO SPOTS IN ICELAND: SKOGAFOSS WATERFALL IN THE SOUTH COAST WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST WATERFALL I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE RAW POWER OF THE FALLS; THE ICONIC ARNARSTAPI ARCH IN THE WEST COAST PROVIDED THE ULTIMATE INSTA PHOTO OP FOR US
SOLHEIMAJOKULL GLACIER IN THE SOUTH EASTERN PART OF ICELAND: THE SITE OF OUR GLACIER HIKE. THE LAKE THAT YOU SEE IN FRONT THOUGH IS FORMED FROM MELTED GLACIER AND IS A DIRECT EVIDENCE OF GLOBAL WARMING
STUDY IN CONTRAST: THE REYNISFJARA BLACK SAND BEACH WAS THE FIRST TIME WE SAW BLACK SAND; CLIMBING UP A VOLCANO IS PRETTY COMMON IN ICELAND. THIS WAS IN SNAEFELLNESS PENINSULA WHICH IS DOTTED WITH MANY SUCH VOLCANOES THAT YOU CAN CLIMB UP AND SEE. STUNNING TO SAY THE LEAST
JUST THE ‘AVERAGE’ COUNTRYSIDE
ANOTHER FIRST FOR US: OUR FIRST ICEBERG AT JOKULARSSON GLACIER LAGOON. A MUST VISIT PLACE WHERE YOU CAN TAKE BOAT RIDES IN THE LAGOON AND GET CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH THOSE GIANT AND BEAUTIFUL ICEBERGS
JAW DROPPING VISTAS AT FJDRARGLJUFUR CANYON IN THE SOUTH COAST
JUMPING WITH JOY IN ARNARSTAPI ! SO WHO DID IT BETTER?
THAT ICONIC ‘GOT’ SPOT ! KIRKJUFELL MOUNTAIN WAS THE ONE SPOT WHERE WE COULD NOT ESCAPE EVEN THE LESSER CROWDS OF SEPTEMBER. PROVES THE IMPACT ‘GOT’ HAS HAD ON THE POPULARITY OF THIS PLACE
TWO OF THE BEST THINGS AT SNAEFELLNESS: CUTE SEALS SUNBATHING AT YTRI TUNGA SEAL COLONY AND THE GORGEOUS AUTUMN LANDSCAPES ALL AROUND
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT ICELAND WAS ALL THE OTHER WORLDLY LANDSCAPES THAT WE GOT TO SEE. LIKE THIS VALLEY FILLED WITH BLACK LAVA AND GREEN MOSS THAT MAKES FOR A STRIKING PICTURE
THE STUNNING KERID CRATER LAKE. HONESTLY THIS WAS FAR BETTER THAN THE OTHER ‘GOLDEN TRIANGLE’ SPOTS. MAKE SURE TO GO DOWN AS WELL
MORE EXAMPLES OF THAT STUNNING LANDSCAPE: STAIRS LEADING TO THE TOP OF A VOLCANO AT SNAEFELLNESS PENINSULA; THE ENTRANCE OF AN UNDERGROUND LAVA CAVE THAT WE DESCENDED INTO, A FEW MINUTES AFTER TAKING THIS PICTURE
JUST ANOTHER WATERFALL DOTTING THE COUNTRYSIDE. THIS ONE IS AT FJADRARGLJUFUR CANYON
AT DJUPALONSSANDUR BLACK PEBBLE BEACH: AN UNDER RATED GEM WITH STUNNING VIEWS ALL AROUND
ONE EXAMPLE OF A TURF HOUSE THAT IS THAT IS TYPICALLY SEEN IN ICELAND AND FAROE ISLANDS
TWO VERY DIFFERENT EQUALLY SPECIAL EXPERIENCES: WALKING WITH THOSE GLISTENING ‘DIAMONDS’ AT DIAMOND BEACH IN THE SOUTH EAST COAST; SOAKING IN THE HOT SPRINGS OF THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE LAGOON
ICELAND MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH OUR PLANET AND I FELT MORE CONNECTED TO NATURE. GRATEFUL FOR THAT. HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS LITTLE PHOTO SERIES AND GOT INSPIRED TO PLAN A FUTURE TRIP TO ICELAND SOME DAY. FOR MORE ICELAND INFORMATION, CHECK OUT ALL OUR OTHER POSTS :
